Our next selection is The Book Club for Troubleome Women by Marie Bostwick. In 1960s Virginia, housewife Margaret Ryan seems to have the perfect suburban life, but still feels unsatisfied. When she befriends the enigmatic Charlotte and starts a book club with other local women, they begin questioning the roles society has prescribed them. Through shared readings and candid conversations, the group—calling themselves “the Bettys”—awakens to their desire for independence and self-discovery, transforming their lives in the process.
